Lovely portraits of two beautiful girls: Grumps and Honey, clicked by doting mum Vidya. Have a look at their earlier posts: Grumpy , and Epic battle between Dog and Lizard . Grumps Honey The two aren't related, though they could be mistaken for sisters. Grumps was adopted as a puppy in Bangalore, and Honey was rescued by Vidya and Samik as an adult in Pune. 'I found her with both her front legs broken, lying by the roadside,' says Vidya. 'She was probably run over by a two-wheeler or car...She just lay there crying for help, hungry, thirsty and in pain, with people walking past wondering why, but not bothering to actually do anything. My husband and I were going grocery shopping when we found her...Poor Honey had to undergo three surgeries on her front leg, and there is a metal rod in it.' Grumps has an extremely gentle side, and gets on very well with her 'sibling' as you can see from the photos. Look at those Indy eyes! Grumps I love this one of Honey Gru...

Leela, Rishi and Sipho are a very active family. Readers who've followed this blog for some years will have seen the photos of Rishi and Sipho on a hike on Table Mountain, and all the lovely beach pictures and play pictures .   Leela and Rishi are Indies (Rishi is Kimaya's brother), while Sipho is of AfriCanis lineage and was adopted in Cape Town. Yvonne sent these recent photos of the gang getting some rest!  Leela keeps a critical eye on her mum during yoga practice Leela in Savasana. .. Leela learned five yoga asanas as a pup, by the way! This little bundle belongs to Sneha Narayanan (lucky girl!) 'This is my 2.5 month old adopted Indian baby! He is the most awesome puppy ever. He was born on the street outside my house, but something bit him in the head, which led to maggots and a deep wound. This was four weeks ago. I had to adopt him and take care of him. Remember Nimbu , Rheea Mukherjee's fawn-like INDog pup with huge eyes and ears?  She was adopted through an animal rescuer called Debadrita in Bangalore.  She's grown up elegant and gorgeous, as expected. And she's a very lucky girl. Her doting human does everything she can to make Nimbu's life as interesting and exciting as possible.  Nimbu (on the left) 'Loving, bratty, she can be testy with some dogs,' writes Rheea. 'Loves to explore and loves chicken (in spite of her mother-owner being vegetarian), loves curd and Marie biscuits.  She can run up a storm and does not like being left alone for 5-6 hours at a time without a walk, affection and an outing. She goes to the dog park once a week to run and goes for car rides with us every evening to pick up groceries. She enjoys the stimulation.' I love that this busy urban pet parent, living and working in a big city, still manages to put in the time and effort to give her INDog the kind of life she needs...

Chocos  Some more photos of Vandana's beautiful INDog family in Palakkad, Kerala: Chocos and her daughters Jelly and Vanilla. Earlier blog posts about the girls  here and here . I love reading Vandana's updates about them. 'When it's really hot, Chocos rolls around in mud and walks around like a swamp monster...sometimes she turns into a swamp monster when she goes fishing. When our canal is dry and muddy, there will be puddles in it with small fish and crabs...She loves herding cattle whenever they pass through her territory and she's always making rounds to see if there are intruders.' Above: 'Vanilla having breakfast next to some of her favourite things, an old cup, the cloth we dry them with after a bath, and a coconut. All three of them keep their things in a kind of pile.' Isn't Baltu absolutely adorable? She lives with lucky Anirbun Nandy and his wife. 'After the untimely death of my last pariah dog, whom I loved very much, luckily another one came to my house. I named her Baltu ("total nut"). Her date of birth is 31 December 1013.  Baltu's mother was a street dog and like many of them was crushed by a speeding car, leaving the puppy alone at the tender age of one month or so. My wife and I brought her up with a feeding bottle.'
